Over 530 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Castleisland MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 535 applicants in the Castleisland Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated Castleisland as one of their three areas of choice.
304 are awaiting one bed units; 146 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 74 are on the list for three-bed units.
10 applicants are awaiting four-bed houses, while one is on the list for a five-bed home.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 333 applicants are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There are currently four vacant units in the Castleisland MD; of these two dwellings are under repair and allocated; while two units are awaiting repairs.
In total within the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD 1,113 applicants are awaiting social housing.
