Almost 580 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Corca Dhuibhne MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 578 applicants in the Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated Corca Dhuibhne as one of their three areas of choice.
300 are awaiting one bed units; 159 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 98 are on the list for three-bed units.
18 applicants are awaiting four-bed houses, while three are on the list for five-bed homes.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 373 applicants are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There is currently one vacant unit in the Corca Dhuibhne MD, this dwelling is awaiting repairs.
In total within the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD 1,113 applicants are awaiting social housing.
