There was an over 41% drop in the number of sexual related crimes recorded in Kerry in a year.
That’s according to the CSO’s crime data for the first quarter of this year.
The report shows between January and March, 20 sexual offences were recorded in the county.
All incidents logged by the Kerry Garda Division in the first quarter of 2026 were in the “rape and sexual assault” category.
That’s a 31% reduction on the first quarter of 2025, when 29 incidents of rape and sexual assault were recorded.
Five “other sexual offences” were recorded in Kerry in the first three months of last year; this dropped to zero in Q1 2026.
