A Fine Gael councillor says it’s time for Kerry to get sterner with the GAA on games being behind paywalls.

Bobby O’Connell was speaking as the party’s Kerry representatives are lobbying all 31 local authorities to table a motion passed recently in this county.

Fine Gael councillors recently passed an emergency motion calling on the GAA to ensure all intercounty games be available on free-to-air tv for 2027, and where required, on online streaming platforms.

Castleisland councillor Bobby O’Connell says we in Kerry have just accepted the GAA+ situation this year, but it’s totally unfair.

Cllr O’Connell believes there should be a cap on the number of games featuring Kerry behind a paywall.
