The Office of Public Works has lodged a motion before the High Court which, if successful, would allow it issue permits to successful Skellig Michael boat operators.
This morning Radio Kerry reported that there will be no boat landings on Sceilg Mhichíl until at least the start of next month.
This was after the High Court granted an interim order yesterday to boat operators who were unsuccessful in getting landing permits from the OPW.
The unsuccessful participants have challenged the OPW competition which resulted in 15 permits being awarded to operators to land passengers on the UNESCO World Heritage site.
The OPW says it can’t issue permits to the successful applicants until the legal cases are resolved.
The OPW says a date for the High Court to hear its motion to lift the suspension has been assigned for either June 3rd or 4th.
