Kerry County Council does not yet have an opening date for the new water activities facility in Fenit.
The €1.3 million facility will include year-round hot showers, changing rooms and toilets, as well as secure storage space and equipment washdown areas.
It’s located between the playground and the entrance to the beach, and it was due to be open already.

At a recent Tralee Municipal District meeting, Fianna Fáil councillor Anne O’Sullivan said it’s a fright to be in the middle of a heatwave and not have access to these facilities.
In response, Kerry County Council said construction is substantially complete, and an opening date will be announced in the coming weeks.
