The National Transport Authority says it has identified a need for a later service on the Dingle-Killarney local link route.
The information was provided at the recent meeting of the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District.
At the previous meeting Cllr Tommy Griffin tabled a motion seeking additional evening services on the 276-bus route, in both directions.
In response to a letter from councillors, the NTA confirmed that the need for a later service has been identified.
It added the timetable implementation of this service is subject to availability of resources, and it is in discussion with the Department of Transport on PSO (Public Service Obligation) funding.
