A young North Kerry man will be returning to his home for the first time in a year since a motorbike accident left him with life changing injuries.
Anthony O'Carroll from Ballyduff was one of the leading names in motorcycle racing when her sustained a serious brain injury in a crash in the Isle of Man in July of last year.
Anthony O'Carroll is currently continuing his recovery in the Brampton Rehabilitation Centre in Oranmore Co Galway, and is due his first visit home this weekend.
His family have organised opportunities for well wishers to meet with Anthony on Saturday in Ballyduff, in the Community centre from 3.30 to 4.30, and in Walsh's Bar from 5 to 6.30.
Anthony's mother Mary has asked that visitors adhere to these times and to avoid attending if they are suffering from any coughs and colds.
She said that these gatherings are an opportunity for the O'Carroll family to thank the local community for all their support over the last year.
