No affordable housing provided in Kerry last year

No affordable housing was provided by Kerry County Council last year according to Sinn Féin TD for Kerry, Pa Daly.

Deputy Daly says no affordable housing was provided under the local authority Affordable Purchase Scheme in Kerry in 2024 and just one property was delivered in the Cost Rental Tenant in Situ Scheme.

The average rent in Kerry has jumped by 64% over the last five years according to the Deputy Daly.

Deputy Daly also claims house prices rose by 16% in Kerry last year and by 26% in Tralee alone.

This comes as the Department of Housing released their latest homeless report for March with record breaking figures.

Nationally 15,418 people are homeless with over 4,600 children in homeless accommodation.
