A new film showcasing the history and heritage of Milltown will be launched this month.
‘Milltown: The Story of a Kerry Landscape’ is an initiative of voluntary group, the Milltown History and Heritage Society.
The film aims to highlight how archaeology, heritage, and key events and personalities in the past have shaped the development of the town and its hinterland over thousands of years.
It brings viewers through key locations and sites and their historical importance, including a 6,000-year-old portal tomb, through to the 13th century Augustinian abbey at Killagha, to the present day.
The film will be launched on Friday, 25th April at 8pm in the Old Community Hall in Milltown, followed by a roundtable discussion with the team behind the film.
