There has been a slight decrease in the number of overall drug offences recorded in Kerry in twelve months.
That’s according to the Central Statistics Office’s crime data report for the first quarter of 2026:
202 overall drug offences were recorded between January and the end of March this year in Kerry.
That’s a 2% drop on the same period the previous year, when 206 drug crimes were reported in the county.
The Kerry Garda Division made 101 arrests for controlled drug offences in the first quarter of the year, down from 103 the previous year (a 2% drop).
Possession of drugs for personal use crimes fell from 78 in the first quarter of 2025, to 76 this year, a 2.5% decrease.
There was a rise in possession of drugs for sale/supply incidents in Kerry during the period, with 21 recorded, up from 20.
Four “other drug offences” were registered in the county in Q1, up from zero the year before.
Cultivation/manufacture of drugs crimes fell from 4 to zero; while importation of drugs offences in Kerry dropped from one to zero.
