A national body that supports people and their families with neurological conditions will be briefing TDs and senators about the shortage of neurorehabilitation beds in the South West.
The Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI) will present their findings at an event in Cork on Monday, September 22nd.
The alliance is the national umbrella body for over 30 non-profit organizations in Ireland.
In its pre-budget submission, they called for investment in 20 beds to begin to address the critical shortage of dedicated inpatient beds in Kerry and Cork.
Each year 50,000 people in Ireland are diagnosed with a neurological condition, through accident, injury or medical conditions.
