Munster Technological University has launched its 10-year sustainability strategy at the MTU Kerry North Campus.
The plan sets out a university-wide roadmap to integrate sustainability into all areas of life at MTU.
Management at MTU says they intend to integrate environmentally responsible practices into education, research, and campus operations to create long-lasting changes.
These actions will include introducing sustainability training for staff and implementing circular economy principles on campus.
They will also engage in community initiatives like river clean-ups and tree planting.
The university envisions becoming a ‘Living Lab’ – a collaborative space where students, staff, and local partners work together to develop practical solutions to real-world sustainability problems.
MTU's goal is to become a national leader in sustainability and climate action by integrating sustainability across all areas of university life and working with students, staff, and partners to create innovative solutions for global and local challenges.
MTU’s strategic plan, “Our Shared Vision,” is aimed at guiding the university towards becoming a leader in sustainability, to create a just, sustainable, equitable, and inclusive future through education, research, and community involvement.
