The Minister for Children, Disability and Equality Norma Foley says she is deeply concerned about a missing child.
Gardaí have begun a search of open ground in North Dublin in the case of a missing child who is feared dead.
The young boy, who would be 7, hasn’t been seen for several years.
He was last known to have lived at the Gallery Apartments in Donabate, Dublin.
It’s believed he was just three years old when he was last seen.
Gardaí say they have been unable to either locate the boy, any information on his current whereabouts or any evidence that he’s currently alive.
Gardaí say this case was referred to them last Friday by Tusla.
The Kerry Fianna Fáil TD added that the welfare of this child is uppermost in her thoughts.
In a statement, Minister Foley says she has been briefed on the matter and has spoken to the Tusla chief executive.
She appealed to anyone with information about this missing child co-operate fully with An Garda Siochána's investigation.
