The Minister for Children and Kerry TD Norma Foley, has welcomed record growth in early learning and childcare services located on school premises.
The proportion of the services has risen from 15.9% in 2021 to 22.5% this year, and now covers nearly one in four services nationwide.
Over 1,000 (1,084) services are now based in schools, aligning with a sharp rise in breakfast clubs and after-school programmes.
There has been an increase in enrolments in early learning and school-age childcare, up 56% in two years.
Minister Foley says the expansion boosts convenience for parents and will be supported by future state-led facilities.
