Minister for Children, Disability and Equality Norma Foley has welcomed a funding allowance for children across the county to access hot meals over the summer.
The Summer Holiday Meals Plan will roll out next Tuesday (June 2nd) with Kerry receiving part of the €600,000 budget.
The programme will provide substantial meals for children between 10 and 18 attending UBU youth services which provide out of school supports to young people.
Kerry Education and Training Board will receive funding for Foróige, West Iveragh Youth Service and Kerry Community Youth Service, Tralee.
Minister Foley says the scheme is “part of the Government's commitment to ensure that no child is without a hot meal during the summer.”
