Minister Norma Foley has announced the launch of the My Little Library Initiative 2026 for children in Kerry.
The My Little Library initiative is an annual scheme that aims to connect children with their local libraries as they begin primary school.
All children in Kerry who are finishing pre-school and starting school can visit their local library to pick up a free book bag.
Last year, 20,000 children benefited from becoming library members, including over 1000 children in Kerry.
The Book Bags are now ready for children, and will be available throughout the summer.
The announcement has been welcomed by Fine Gael Senator, Mike Kennelly.
