Michael Fassbender portrait goes missing in Killarney town centre

A piece of street art featuring a portrait of actor Michael Fassbender has gone missing in Killarney.

The likeness was painted on an electricity power box, and had been standing close to the court house at East Avenue Road, until it disappeared over the weekend.

It was done in collaboration with Kerry County Council and an art initiative called GRAFT in the centre of Killarney town.

It was one of two portraits painted on power boxes in the town by West Kerry artist Paul Egan - the other features Killarney's other famous export, Oscar-nominated actor Jessie Buckley.

Jessie's portrait so far remains untouched.

Speaking on Radio Kerry's TalkAbout show, Paul Egan appealed to whoever took the Michael Fassbender likeness, to return it as soon as possible:
