An MEP for Ireland South, from Kerry, says he has not yet decided if he will run to be Fine Gael's candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
Seán Kelly from Kilcummin met with party leader, Tánaiste Simon Harris, and the party executive recently to discuss the campaign.
The next presidential election must take place in the 60 days before President Michael D. Higgin's term ends on 11 November.
No president has ever been a member of Fine Gael, and MEP Kelly says its a healthy sign for the party that they have a number of interested candidates.
He says it is approaching make-up-your-mind time, but for now he is still considering his final decision:
