Men’s sheds in Kerry are to receive up to €3,000 each under a new government grant.
The Department of Community Development has announced a €1 million package.
The fund will be distributed across almost 450 branches of the Irish Men’s Sheds Association to assist with running costs such as heating, utilities, and insurance.
The grant has been welcomed by the Minister for Children, Disability, Equality and Kerry TD, Norma Foley; Minister of State and Kerry TD, Michael Healy-Rae; Fianna Fáil TD Michael Cahill, and Independent TD Deputy Danny Healy-Rae.
There are 13 Men’s Sheds in Kerry: Ballybunion Men’s Shed, Ballyduff Men’s Shed, Ballyheigue Men’s Shed, Barradubh Men’s Shed, Cahersiveen Men’s Shed, Dingle Men’s Shed, Kenmare Men’s Shed, Killarney Men’s Shed, Listowel Men’s Shed, Sliabh Luachra Men’s Shed, Sneem Men’s Shed, Tralee Men’s Shed, and Waterville Men’s Shed.
