A man in his 50s remains in Garda custody in Kerry in relation to the murder of Mike Gaine from Kenmare last March.
The man was arrested in connection with the investigation early yesterday morning and taken to Castleisland Garda Station for questioning.
He is currently being detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Gardaí must make a decision in the coming hours to either charge or release him.
Gardaí have not named the man but Radio Kerry has learned that he is US citizen Michael Kelley.
Last May, Mr Kelley was arrested as part of the Garda investigation, questioned and released without charge.
56-year-old Michael Gaine was first reported missing from his home near Kenmare on Friday, 21st March last.
Body tissue, confirmed to be his, was found after slurry was spread on Mr. Gaine's land 7 weeks later.
