A man has pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of a woman in Kerry.
50-year-old Hryhorii Sryotenko, with an address at Banna Beach Holiday Homes, Ardfert, pleaded guilty to the single charge of attempted murder.
Mr Sryotenko admitted one count of attempting to murder Victoria Pavienko at the Banna Beach Holiday Homes on January 13th 2024.
He had been sent forward to the Central Criminal Court on four charges all arising from that one incident, including assault causing serious harm, false imprisonment, and producing a knife in the course of a dispute.
He was arraigned on the single count of attempted murder today at a sitting of the Central Criminal Court in Limerick.
Mr Sryotenko previously told gardaí when he was charged with attempted murder, “I didn’t want to kill her”.
He was remanded in continuing custody for sentence later this year.
