Man airlifted to UHK after suffering a fall on the Great Blasket

A man is recovering in University Hospital Kerry, having suffered a fall while visiting the Great Blasket island earlier today.

The alarm was raised just after 12 mid-day, and the man was given medical treatment at the scene by First Responders.

He was then airlifted from the island by rescue helicopter 115, assisted by Dingle Coastguard.

It's understood the man's injuries were not serious.
