A man accused of slashing another man’s face with a knife in Tralee is to seek High Court bail tomorrow.
36-year-old David Tyler appeared before Judge Mark O’Connell at Tralee District Court this morning facing two charges.
It’s alleged that on Wednesday September 10th at Bridge Street Tralee, David Tyler struck another man in the face with a cutlery knife, causing a laceration to the man’s chin.
He’s charged with assault causing harm, and production of a knife in the course of a fight.
The 36-year-old appeared before Tralee District Court via-video link from Cork Prison and spoke to confirm his name and that he could see and hear the court.
Sergeant Chris Manton told Judge Mark O’Connell that DPP directions are not yet available.
Mr Tyler’s solicitor, Padraig O’Connell told the court that bail was refused by Judge John King in Listowel District Court last week.
However, Mr O’Connell says there will be a bail application before the High Court for his client tomorrow.
Judge O’Connell remanded Mr Tyler in continuing custody to appear before Tralee District Court on October 1st.
