Máirín Quill has been remembered as a proud Kerry woman who never forgot her roots.

The former TD and Senator, who was originally from Gortloughera in Kilgarvan, has passed away at the age of 89.

Alongside Des O’Malley and Mary Harney, she set up the Progressive Democrats in 1985.
