The Taoiseach has paid tribute to Kerry woman Máirín Quill.

She was also a Cork City councillor for 30 years.

Micheál Martin said he is "deeply, deeply saddened" to learn of the passing of Máirín Quill.

He described her as "erudite and impactful", "a true renaissance figure", "a true patriot" and as having "championed … arts and culture".
