A local community safety plan for Kerry is to be developed.
That's according to the chair of the new Kerry Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP), Councillor Niall Kelleher, which has replaced the old Joint Policing Committee (JPC).
The new safety plan will include a dedicated council official who will work with the LCSP.
This is the first time such a role will exist.
Councillor Kelleher says he's confident the new partnership will address concerns about crime and justice in the county.
Just one meeting of the new Kerry Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP) will be open to the media.
Others will be closed to give members of the community confidence to speak out.
