Former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will be presenting a prestigious literature award in Listowel this summer.
Listowel Writers' Week has released a preview into what lies ahead for this year's edition of the literary festival.
Now in its 55th year, it is the country's oldest literary festival, with the first edition taking place in 1971.
This year there will be a strong contingent of Irish writers at Writers' Week, including Laureate for Irish Fiction Eílís Ní Dhuibhne, as well as crime novelists Liz Nugent and Claire Coughlan.
Award-winning broadcaster and novelist Fergal Keane will appear at the festival, as well as Booker shortlisted novelist Andrew Miller.
International contributors to this year's Writers' Week include Hungarian poet and literary historian Győző Ferencz and Scottish poet and critic Tom Hubbard.
The Children’s Festival returns this year, being seen as an investment in next generation of storytellers.
