The Criminal Assets Bureau investigated a number of individuals in the Kerry in 2024 and sold a house in the county.
The house made €172,268 at public auction as part of a wider settlement with a member of organised crime in the county.
The Criminal Assets Bureau report for 2024 shows that nationally, CAB looked into over 1,295 targets that year. It also sold a record number of 20 houses in 2024, one of which was in Kerry.
CAB activities led to the freezing of over €17 million euro of assets and money in the 12 months, the majority of which was made up of real estate.
One of the cases highlighted in its annual report concerned the assets and activities of a member of an organised crime group based in Kerry whose modus operandi was deception offences and carrying out substandard building works.
The bureau entered into a tax settlement agreement with this individual, part of which involved the auction of the house for almost €180,000.
Along with the tax it returned, the total amount received as a result of the case was €352,268.
