Landings at Skellig Michael have resumed today.
Sceilg Mhichíl was due to reopen on May 10th but the issuing of landing permits was delayed following a legal dispute; only tours around the island were going ahead until today.
However, last week the High Court granted an application by the Office of Public Works to lift an automatic suspension on landing on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
An apparent shortage of tour guides then saw the landings pushed back a further three days, until today.
Boats have been travelling out and landing on the island today, with conditions being reported as very good.
It’s understood sea and weather conditions are expected to be good for the coming days.
