Kerry County Council says a Killarney traffic management project will go back to public consultation.
The N22 MD O’Shea Roundabout to Ballycasheen upgrade and active travel project, was one of four projects affected after errors in the planning process.
Last week a statement from the council outlined the issues which impacted several projects in the county.
It said following an internal procedural checking process, a number of submissions through public consultation had not been taken into account during the Part 8 process.
The council said as a result of this, three projects would be re-advertised and public consultation will recommence in the coming weeks.
These include the redevelopment of the Áras Phádraig in Killarney; Public Realm Improvements at Kenmare Place and Main Street in Killarney; and Safety Improvement Works at Abbeydorney Junction.
Last week, Kerry County Council said the fourth project – the N22 MD O’Shea Roundabout to Ballycasheen upgrade and active travel project – was still within the statutory time frame and did not require re-advertisment.
This matter was due to be considered at this week’s Killarney Municipal District meeting.
However, a further compliance check found a procedural matter had arisen in relation to the Part 8 process.
A statement from the council says it is now necessary to re-advertise the Part 8 for the N22 MD O’Shea Roundabout to Ballycasheen Road Upgrade and L3907 Ballycasheen Road project.
It outlined all who made submissions under the original process will be contacted, to provide an opportunity to resubmit observations.
Kerry County Council has apologised for the issues which have arisen in relation to this process.
