Kerry ETB is one of the core partners in a new national education initiative designed to improve access to further and higher education for students with care experience.
Launched this week by Ministers Norma Foley and James Lawless, the partnership brings together MTU, UCC, Kerry ETB, Cork ETB, Tusla and EPIC.
The programme will act as a "one-stop shop" for model of supports for young people who have lived in foster care, residential care or aftercare.
It will serve as a means to provide clearer pathways into education, named personal support contacts within institutions, and improved coordination between services.
Almost 5,000 children are currently in State care nationally.
