A young Tralee man was among those honoured at the Lidl 'Family Carer of the Year Awards', held earlier this week.
22-year-old Scott Rumgay - who gives full-time care to his mother Aileen as she battles brain cancer - was named among the five recipients of 'Young Carer of Year' awards.
Scott was nominated by his girlfriend Jade Lawlor, who described him as 'selfless, courageous and deeply devoted' to his mother.
Now in their 18th year, the awards recognise and shine a light on the vital role of family carers in homes and communities across Ireland.
Angie Benhaffaf, mother of previously conjoined twins Hassan and Hussein, was named the overall 'Carer of the Year' for 2025.
