A Kerry TD says the transition to renewable energy is leaving many households behind.
Sinn Féin's Climate spokesperson, Pa Daly, says new research from Trinity College Dublin shows clean technologies like electric vehicles, solar panels and heat pumps are far more common in wealthier areas.
He says the current grants system favours homeowners on higher incomes, while lower-income households and renters struggle with the upfront costs.
Deputy Daly described the situation as a “two-tier climate future”.
He’s calling on the Government of Ireland to adopt Sinn Féin proposals to make renewable technologies more affordable and accessible.
The Kerry TD says a successful climate transition must be fair and available to all households.
