The highest temperature in the country was recorded in Kerry last month.
That’s according to Met Éireann’s climate statement for March.
It shows that Valentia Observatory registered a temperature of 19.1 degrees on March 19th.
The South Kerry weather station also recorded the highest number of rain days, at 26; a rain day is a day which 0.2 mm or more of rainfall is measured.
The mean air temperature in the county was 0.6 degrees above the long-term average, while 143.0 hours of sunshine were recorded in Valentia the highest nationally.
