The Kerry Hospice Foundation is opening tenders next Tuesday for an extension to the palliative care unit in Tralee.
The project is expected to cost over €6 million.
The Kerry Hospice Foundation, a registered charity, sought planning permission to build a single-storey extension and alter the existing palliative care building.
The development is set to add five extra beds for its inpatient unit and support facilities for patients, their families, and staff.
The hospice is taking part in a number of fundraisers including the Ring of Kerry and hosting the Kerry Hospice Foundation Good Friday Walk today around the Kingdom.
Chairman of the Hospice Foundation Jack Shanahan is calling on the people of Kerry to donate to the vital service.
