Kerry FG MEP Sean Kelly is among a number of Irish MEPS who have sought clarity around COVID 19 restrictions and their need to travel to and from Brussels for work.

Mr Kelly along with FF MEP Billy Kelleher and Green Part MEP Ciaran Cuffe have written to the Government seeking clarity around their work travel regulations.

Mr Kelly told the Irish Independent that uncertainty had led him to postpone his return to work in Brussels twice despite the fact that EU Parliament seesions have now resumed.

Belgian authorities are allowing politicians an exemption from isolating as they are deemed to be engaged in essential work, but on their return to Ireland the MEPs are obliged until Irish rules to isolate for 14 days changes.
