Kerry County Councillor says spraying graffiti along Ring of Kerry is not way to express outrage over Gaza

A Kerry County Councillor says spraying graffiti on stone walls along the Ring of Kerry is not the way to express outrage over the situation in Gaza.

Graffiti including the word 'genocide' was painted on a stone wall on the N70 between Waterville and Caherdaniel; the words 'evil triumphs when good men do nothing' were also painted on the road.

Cathaoirleach of Kenmare Municipal District, Councillor Norma Moriarty said people's anger over the Israeli government's actions in Gaza are understandable, but condemned the graffiti.

White oil paint was used which Cllr Moriarty says means the stones will have to be replaced.

Radio Kerry News has contacted An Garda Síochána for comment.
