Kerry County Council is appealing to people to stay away from exposed coasts tomorrow, as Storm Bram is set to reach Kerry at 7am.
Met Éireann has issued an orange wind warning for Kerry, effective from 7am to 3pm tomorrow.
A yellow rain warning will be in place beforehand from nine o’clock tonight to nine tomorrow morning.
The Local Coordination Group, which includes Kerry County Council, the HSE, An Garda Síochána, emergency services and the utility companies, met this afternoon to prepare for the impact of Storm Bram.
As a public safety precaution, Rossbeigh beach car park had been closed to the public until further notice.
Met Éireann is warning that Storm Bram will bring gale force southerly winds with the strongest winds along the coast.
Water Safety Ireland is advising the public not to park or walk near the coast as wave overtopping and high tides are expected to contribute to possible flooding in coastal areas.
Kerry County Council is advising the public to expect hazardous travelling conditions throughout.
The Road Safety Authority says travel conditions will be difficult with debris on thoroughfares, loose objects displaced and outdoor events impacted.
Motorists are advised to expect travel disruption tomorrow with surface water likely on many routes.
The National Directorate for Fire & Emergency Management (NDFEM) convened a meeting of all local authorities to prepare.
It is warning that the ground is already saturated, and that many rivers are already at capacity.
It says there is a significant risk of flooding in Munster and coastal counties, where the timing of high tides may coincide with strong winds, creating a further risk of flooding.
There is also a possibility of power outages.
