Councillors give green light for five new bus stop platforms within Listowel Municipal District

Councillors in Listowel have given the green light for five new bus stop platforms within the Municipal District.

Members considered the section 38 proposals at the recent Listowel MD meeting.

It followed an audit by the National Transport Authority, Local Link and Bus Éireann on bus stops in the county to identify primary locations.

The meeting heard responses received during the public consultation stage, including from state bodies and from the local community.

The areas identified for bus stop platforms were Abbeydorney (R556), Ballyduff (L6253), Ballylongford (R551), Causeway (L1034) and Moyvane (L1021), which were approved by councillors.

The proposed works include the construction of bus platforms, provision of bus stop poles and signage, and associated drainage and road marking works.
