Kerry County Council currently has no plans to stop using X, formerly known as Twitter.
The local authority issued the statement as Dublin City Council announced it is considering taking all of its departments off the platform.
The social media platform has been under increased scrutiny in recent weeks, after it introduced an AI technology which allowed users to nudify photos, including of children.
A spokesperson for Kerry County Council said the authority uses multiple social media platforms, including Mastodon and Bluesky. to provide information to, and engage with, members of the public.
The spokesperson also stated that its digital communications policies is reviewed periodically.
