The new Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council is criticising the Tánaiste for comments he made about dereliction and local authorities.
Tánaiste Simon Harris said he was frustrated that local authorities hadn’t done enough to tackle the issue of dereliction by not chasing derelict site levies.
The Tánaiste was speaking as he updated Cabinet on plans for a new Derelict Property Tax.
Newly appointed Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council Mikey Sheehy says he was disappointed by those comments.
He says Kerry County Council is being proactive when it comes to tackling dereliction:
