Kerry was among the most popular destinations for domestic tourism in Ireland in the first quarter of this year.
That’s according to data from the Central Statistics Office for between January and March.
The Southern region, which includes Kerry, Cork, Clare and Limerick, accounted for almost 40% of all domestic trips in the state.
Over 1 million visits were made to the region in the first three months of the year, with the average stay of domestic trips at 2.2 nights.
The figures show visiting family or relatives accounted for the highest percentage of trips, while 39% of trips were listed as holidays.
