Kerry County Council will be delivering a series of Seashore Explore events on all the counties Blue Flag beaches.
The events are in collaboration with marine biologists from Sea Synergy and aims to highlight marine life living along our coast, and how we can all help to protect and look after these important habitats.
Twelve workshops are being held at Kerry’s Blue Flag beaches, which started with Derrynane Beach on July 18th, will last for approximately 1.5 hours and be led by a marine biologist.
Kerry has 13 Blue Flag beaches. Blue Flags are awarded to beaches that demonstrate good water quality, effective environmental management, safe facilities, high-quality services, environmental education, and information provision. The Seashore Explore events are part of the latter criteria for Blue Flags.
Booking is essential as places are limited for these free events, which are supported by the Heritage Council.
