The trial of three people accused of murdering a North Kerry man two years ago, has been adjourned and the jury discharged.
The jury at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Limerick has been discharged, for what they were told was legal reasons around disclosure.
Father-of-one Gerard Kennelly, who was in his mid-30s, was found with fatal stab injuries at Knockanure outside Listowel, in the early hours of Monday, May 27th, 2024.
The trial of three people, all accused of murdering Gerard Kennelly, began last week at a Central Criminal Court sitting in Limerick.
The three accused are Kieran Brady, who is in his mid-30s, from Upper Athea, Co. Limerick, 24-year-old Abigail Lynch of Woodview Place, Tarbert, and 29-year-old Kane Hornyak, of Doon Road, Ballybunion.
All three pleaded not guilty to a single charge each, that they did each murder Mr Kennelly contrary to common law.
The jury in the trial was discharged today, with the trial adjourned to a later date.
The jury was told it was being discharged due to legal issues around disclosure of evidence, and that the matters had nothing to do with the jury itself.
Mr Justice Patrick McGrath said the trial could not immediately continue, and he adjourned proceedings for a pre-trial hearing on 20th July.
