Irish Self-Catering Federation advises Kerry members to continue as normal until government clarifies new law

The Irish Self-Catering Federation is advising members to continue their short-term let businesses as normal, until the government clarifies a new law.

All short-term let properties in rent pressure zones (RPZs) must have planning permission.

An emergency law came into effect at midnight, putting the entire country into a rent pressure zones (RPZ).

Killarney had been the only rent pressure zone in Kerry until now.

CEO of the Irish Self-Catering Federation, Máire Ní Mhurchú, recommends members not waste money applying for planning permission, because current planning rules don't allow short-term rental properties in RPZs.

She believes they should wait for the government to issue further guidelines:
