A conference of funeral home directors from across the globe is taking place in Kerry this weekend.
The Selected Independent Funeral Homes summer conference is underway in Listowel until Sunday.
Funeral professionals from America, Australia, the UK, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands and Ireland will attend the conference.
Just two Irish funeral firms are members of the Selected Independent Funeral Homes (SIFH) association, including the Gleasure Funeral Home, which operate in Tralee and Listowel.
Gleasure’s are hosting the European Conference, which got underway at the Listowel Arms Hotel on Thursday.
The event features group sessions, presentations, activities and talks - which include dicussions on technological advances in the industry, Irish funeral traditions, and psychological benefits of Irish bereavement methods.
Up to 100 funeral professionals are expected to attend the conference including the SIFH America President Barbara Rischer Welch, American board Chair Christopher Waite, and the Coroner for Kerry, Aisling Quilter.
The SIFH summer conference runs until Sunday.
