Consultation with landowners are ongoing to secure land for a traffic calming scheme at Glenflesk village.
Councillor Maura Healy-Rae asked Kerry County Council (KCC) for an update on the project on the N22, which would include a Park & Share facility.
Describing efforts to secure the traffic calming measures as a "long-running saga", Cllr Healy-Rae said "signage, … speed indicator signs … and speed vans" have all be tried.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has issued feedback for the council's Feasibility & Options Report for the project.
A consultant is being hired to advance the planning and design of the project.
