Gardaí investigating after six people injured following fire incident at Killarney estate

Gardaí are investigating after a number of people were injured following an incident involving fire at a Killarney estate.

Six people, including a five-year-old boy, were taken to hospital for treatment of burns on Saturday night.

An Garda Síochána and emergency services attended the scene at Loreto Convent Estate at approximately 10.20PM on Saturday night.

Gardaí say the fire occurred at a domestic residence in the estate.

One unit from the Killarney Fire Brigade was conveyed to the scene at 23.10PM and remained at the scene of the blaze until 1.30am.

Fire control says it responded to an medical emergency of burns caused by a barbeque fire at Loreto Convent Estate, Killarney.

Six people including men, women and children were taken to hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.

An Garda Síochána say a technical examination of the scene has been conducted and investigations are ongoing.
