Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a driver in a fatal road traffic collision, on the Kerry Limerick border, last night, left the scene of the crash.
A man in his 30s was killed in the three car incident on the N21 at Templeglantine, at approximately 11 o'clock last night.
The N21 road remains closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Diversions are in place.
The deceased man was a passenger in the first car, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of that car left the scene on foot and Gardaí are seeking to identify this person.
The late man's body has been taken to the mortuary at UHL (University Hospital Limerick) for a post-mortem examination and the coroner has been notified.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s were both treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the female driver of the third car, aged in her 60s, also sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene .
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, who were travelling on the N21 from Newcastle West towards Abbeyfeale between 11 and 11:30 last night (Monday, 8 June), should make this footage available to the investigating Gardaí.
